The Alzheimer’s Association is accepting nominations for two "Best Paper" awards in Neuroimaging. To be considered, submit your paper by May 4, 2009.

Prizes

Both awards carry unrestricted prizes.

  • Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Award
An unrestricted prize of $5,000 in recognition of the "best paper" published in any peer-reviewed journal between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
  • New Investigator Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Award
An unrestricted prize of $1,000 awarded to the "best paper" most recently published by a promising new investigator between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.

Selection criteria

  • The topic of the papers must relate to in-vivo neuroimaging of a neurodegenerative process.
  • The nomination for the $5,000 award must be for papers published or in-press galley proof in the period between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
  • The nomination for the $1,000 award will be for a recently published paper or in-press galley proof by an investigator new to the Alzheimer's disease field. This will be determined based on an accompanying one-page letter by the candidate and a CV listing all publications and all grant support. In general, junior faculty with limited support for Alzheimer's disease research and limited publications in the Alzheimer's field will be considered.
  • Selection of the awardees will be made by the Awards Jury convened by the Alzheimer's Association.
